  according to a recent pew report, ones who are not affiliated with any religion are the fastest growing group.

  if they were a religion they would be the largest.

  's who are leaving religion, but cuts across a wide spectrum.

  Are they counting regular attenders? I know some who go on easter and christmas. Others only suddenly need a church for a funeral or maybe wedding

  i listened to geoffrey jackson’s latest talk “assisting our brothers materially “.

  jackson presented some arguments, one of which was….jesus did not stop the widow from putting money in the contribution box in the temple.

  basically saying regardless of your financial situation you have to donate.

  When was this talk given? The assistance always comes down to me giving to someone else. The most the WT does is introduce us. The arrangements are usually to find some with the means to donate. All my (wife is pimi )donations go to the local congregation and then any misuse falls on the elders.

  Is it time to trot out the least of christ's brothers again? The great 8 are not least in my mind

  would someone in the know please clarify for me some alleged comments given from the governing body at the recent/yet to be streamed for the rank and file annual meeting?.

  it is my understanding that samuel herd basically tells the rank and file that old light is new light and the new light of july, 2013 is now old light.

  to be specific, herd states that the official stance on whether or not the annointed remaining on earth, to include the governing body, will all be in heaven prior to armageddon.. at this same annual meeting tony morris iii tells those in attendance that stephen letts' statement that "we're living in the final part of the last days, undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days!

  A select few get the live stream, fewer even actually there. The ones being seen are leaked copies. In January it us supposed to be released. No idea if there will be instructions to watch it as a congregation (while at home on zoom) like they do assemblies. I am not "in the know" crowd so this is speculation.

  Now I am wondering if it will be edited.

  Sounds like some of it is worth staying awake for. I really want to see if anyone reacts to the last days comment. Reservations in another post calls it a sign of infighting. I would think these talks are prerehearsed. But the tight pants seemed to go off the rails.

  Snowman at assembly hall

  a few years ago i built a 6 inch snowman on a picnic table at the assembly hall.

  just whimsy during lunch, no one was out in the cold.

  i thought maybe some kids would get a little enjoyment.

  A few years ago I built a 6 inch snowman on a picnic table at the assembly hall. Just whimsy during lunch, no one was out in the cold. I thought maybe some kids would get a little enjoyment. Within a half hour it was gone. Probably was demonized or an idol. Next time it will be a calf if I can find some gold glitter. (Assuming I ever am back there)

  david splane starts off with, ''i thought we might reflect on jehovah's goodness and the way he's been guiding his people during the pandemic.''.

  not once in his talk does he mention that jehovah would give all members a super immune system that would fight off the virus.

  neither does he mention that jehovah would reduce positive covid-19 numbers, hospital admissions and covid-19 deaths of his people.. mr. splane: how does the almighty, all knowing jehovah guide his people during the pandemic?.

  It is easy for a cloistered religious compound to avoid bringing in an outside virus. Those of us outside go to work, stores, recreation so have a greater chance of exposure.

  Is the greater number of deaths statistically significant? I think our math wizard got insulted and left

  Leading First Amendment scholars intervene in CA loyalty oath case

  brianna bolden-hardge, a mother of two, a devout jw and a career california civil servant, sues the office of the state controller which revoked a job offer after she objected to swearing a loyalty oath, even though three other state agencies she worked for "either did not insist on the oath or provided her a religious accommodation to it" (by allowing to submit a clarifying statement).

  she sued, and the case was dismissed by a district court.

  now it's heard by the ninth circuit.

  A rare instance of being right. We do not see the wording of the oath though. Maybe it wou li d be something we would not object to, or over the top.

  Not like the government is honest and trustworthy.
